IP Address Lookup
Location, ISP and network details for an IP address or hostname. Your IP is pre-filled.
Frequently asked questions
What can an IP address lookup tell me?
Its approximate geographic location, the internet service provider and organization that holds it, the autonomous system number (ASN) of the network, its time zone and its reverse DNS hostname if one is set.
How accurate is IP geolocation?
Reasonably good at country level and often right at city level, but it is an estimate. Many IP addresses resolve to the provider's regional hub, not to the user's street address, so IP location can never identify an exact place.
What is an ASN?
An autonomous system number identifies a network that is run by one organization, such as an ISP, a cloud provider or a company, and that announces its own routes on the internet. It tells you who operates the network behind an IP.
Can I look up a domain name instead of an IP?
Yes. Enter a hostname such as example.com and the tool resolves it to an IP address first, then looks up that address.
Why does my lookup say private addresses are not allowed?
Private ranges such as 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x and 127.0.0.1 are only meaningful inside a local network and have no public location or owner, so they cannot be looked up.
