Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-11-08. This policy covers the NetProbe website at netprobe.online.

In short

There are no accounts and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name or email address to use any tool, and we do not sell personal data.

What happens when you run a tool

The domain, IP address, hostname, port or MAC address you enter is sent to our server so it can fetch the result. To do that, the server passes it to the services that hold the data:

  • public DNS resolvers, for DNS, MX, NS, CNAME, reverse DNS and email authentication lookups;
  • domain registries' RDAP services, for WHOIS, domain expiration and domain availability, and the regional internet registries' RDAP services (ARIN, RIPE NCC, APNIC, LACNIC and AFRINIC), for IP WHOIS;
  • IP geolocation providers (ipwho.is and geojs.io), for IP lookups;
  • ipify (api.ipify.org and api6.ipify.org), which your browser contacts directly on the What is my IP and IPv6 test pages so they can show both your IPv4 and your IPv6 address;
  • DNS blocklists, for the blacklist checker;
  • the host you name, for the port checker, which opens a connection to it from our server.

The subnet calculator runs entirely in your browser. The MAC lookup uses a registry stored on our own servers, so it sends nothing to a third party.

Your IP address and logs

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages, protect the site and keep logs. We use your IP address to apply rate limits, and the What is my IP page reads it to show it back to you. Lookups are sent as part of the page address or API request, so the text you enter can appear in those technical logs. We do not use them to build profiles of visitors.

Analytics

When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools are popular. It sets cookies in your browser and receives your anonymized IP address. It is not loaded if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. You can also block it with a browser extension or by clearing cookies. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Advertising

The site may show ads from third-party networks. These networks can use cookies or similar technology to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalized ads at Google's ad settings or aboutads.info.

Cookies and local storage

NetProbe itself sets no cookies. Cookies come only from the analytics and advertising services described above, when they are active.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Because we do not keep accounts or search histories, we usually hold nothing that identifies you, but you can contact us with a request. Our hosting and analytics providers handle their own data under their own policies.

Children

NetProbe is a technical tool and is not directed at children under 13.
